Learning about God through Rice and Oil

As a society, it seems we enjoy talking, looking, reading, singing and watching about Heaven - even though not all of us as a society believe in it. If you think about it, Hollywood in all its forms of media loves using Heaven in its books, songs, television shows and movies.

Since early December I have been waiting eagerly and anxiously. Major League Baseball opened there Free Agency Period then and allowed the players who have no contract to join the team of their choice.

here are some cartoons that last generations like Scooby Doo or Looney Tunes for instance. Another would be Winnie the Pooh. Pooh Bear is one of those characters that help children learn so much thanks to creator A. A. Milne. Pooh and his friends in 100 Acre Forest have taught children for ages about friendship, love and innocence through these animal friends and Christopher Robin. 

Being comfortable is nice, if you are sitting in your favorite chair at the end of a long day but no so much if that is how you live your life. Comfortable. Safe. Never trying. Not growing. We need to get out of our comfort zones, leave our familiar and try. 

Jesus makes it clear to the teachers of the law, it is not enough to just love God and serve Him but we are to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.  Game changer. 

God will never change, but as we get older people change. We grow physically, but also emotionally and in every sense. But God never will. He does not need to because He is perfect.

As believers in God, we strive towards being like Christ in all that we say and do. And that is correct being like God in our everyday life. We should be more like Him and less like ourselves. Letting God through His Word transform us into an image of Him. 

If we are in a relationship with the Lord, learning and growing, or abiding. We need to understand that like any relationship, it will not be perfect out of the gate.

The temptation of busyness is something we can all fall into. Society almost has convinced us if we do not let life, or our jobs, or our social standing, or our volunteer, or whatever swallow us up, we are weak.
